Day 39: A New Place to Ponder January 20, 1862

Momma and I left the house this morning to go get some supplies we needed for the house, the snow is white blanket. Better dress warmly, Momma said we can stop in the bakery and we can stop in the new store they built a couple minutes away from the bakery. We aint sure exactly whats in there, but I hope its worth the time to go and at least check it out, they say its somethin for the soldiers in training. I hope it meant I could do something to help out the boys. Once we walked in there were soldier things everywhere, information on what they have to carry and what they are doing to train for unwanted battles. Man its a lot, I cant believe what they are doing and what they have to carry. Momma put some change into the donation box, hoping that, that money goes to a good cause. Food, clothing, anything because they can get sick in these conditions or even frost bite. I hope everything is ok, winter can be so harsh!
