Day 42: Bad News Arrives February 15, 1861

AnnaMae came over this morning, she was in tears. She couldnt talk, she was too upset to talk and I didnt know what else to do other than comfort her. Bad news has arrived for AnnaMae, her brother Peter has been shot accidentally while training, the letter said that a childish kid was playing around and the trigger was shot. He was shot in the arm, thank goodness it wasnt his head or heart. The doctor at the camp said they have taken the bullet out, and hopefully he will make a full recovery. The shock was amazing, I would have never expected anything to happen like that in camp, people are idiots and stupid and dont need to be playin around like that. They said Peter will be in recovery for a couple of weeks till his health is back up and running, if anything is infected they will have to amputate the arm. The guys need to look out better. I just hope the trauma for AnnaMae isnt too much.
