Day 41: How Important Is This? February 10, 1862

Many days have gone by since the boys left, and it seems to me waiting around is like waiting for a tree to fall down. How important is this anyway? Why cant we settle this the easy way out? Have people talk the situation out. We dont have common sense anymore, why not save the country from what we dont need. We dont need to go to war with ourselves, specially with no aid to back us up. One thing Poppa found out from a neighbor is that General Ulysses S. Grant in Tennessee, capturing Fort Henry, and ten days later Fort Donelson. This was a victory for the Union. Now everything is going into circles, the pages keep on turning. This chapter in my life seems like it will never end, and it needs to. Everything needs to go back to normal, back to the way it was when we could live our daily lives with out interruptions.
